Why I need my Library

DeAnn Elliott: “My vision loss is progressive, and one of the worst moments was when I lost the ability to read.  When I could no longer use the public libraries in my town, the Perkins Library was able to work with me to find large print and audio formats for newspapers, magazines, books, and DVDs so I can continue to read what I need to read  at home and at work.”

Pembroke Public Library offers sanctuary. Is there anything more healing than books, movies, music and food for mind and spirit? I think not. PPL offers all these plus warmth, charge-ups, extended hours and a place for our pets to warm up when the power is out. PPL rocks!

I Need My Library

Why I need my library. I need my library for books ,some place to go to unwind and relax, enjoy history. the library has a lot of neat history to it that is so moving and that is why I need my library.

The Talking Book Library is an essential component for Speaking Volumes, a radio book group, broadcast for residents of Massachusetts who are blind or vision-impaired.  Listeners borrow the chosen books from The Talking Book Library, tune in to listen to the discussion, or join in by calling the studio.  It’s a simple concept, bringing the enjoyable experience of a book group into listeners’ homes, but without The Talking Book Library, it would not be possible.

I need my library for many reasons

I need my library because it offers myself and my daughter a quite place to go. For my two year old it gives her an chance to play with puzzles and other toys and occasionally to play with other kids. For myself it give me a place to obtain books that i can read at night when my daughter has gone to bed. Also, for me the library is a calm and quite place that is free from stress. The staff at the library is very professional and kind. At the end of the day i feel comfortable going to richards memorial library for our reading, watching and listening needs.
